Me M asked:
He doesn’t bite just a little nippy and pinches the skin when trying to grab the kids sleeves or socks! I know he’s bored and needs more exercise but that wil happen when it starts to warm up outside. Otherwise is there any tricks to train him?

train him basic obdence, which includes bite inhibition. The nibbling may be cute now, but when he’s bigger it can cause problems

It may help if your kids make a loud “Yipe” sound when he does it. This is how puppies let other puppies know that they’re playing too rough. It doesn’t work all the time, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

He needs more exercise now. Get your mac on and brave the cold weather. Dogs need exercise even if it is tipping it down.
As for the biting, get your kids to yell as though they are in pain even if they are not, whenever he nips. In a litter when one puppy yelps during play s/he is telling the others they are being too rough and they instinctively calm down. Yelping will just be recreating that. This problem needs to be sorted ASAP because while it may be cope-able now, having an adult dog that nips is a serious problem.

My family tree is full of dogs and we all use the yipe method to keep pups from nipping. Its kind of fun to rev the pup up in play to try to get it to nip just so you can yipe at it. And depending on the kids ages, they can help with this training. Remember when you yipe you also stop play.
