Hi. We are going on a flight with the kids with all the regular handheld toys. Almost all of which require a screwdriver or mini-screwdriver to take off the back of the battery cover. Any tips of what else can be used that can be brought on the plane in your carry on bag? Thanks!

why dont you just make sure that you have fresh batteries in the toys before you get on the plane? Thats what I would do, rather than risk something happening with security. Just my thought.

If your in the states and are going to an airport that has TSA as the security, you can bring a screwdriver that is no longer than 7 inches. The scissors is the 4 inch rule and that’s from the piece that holds them together.

put a mini ***** driver in your checked bag to change batteries at your destination.
If you think you will need to change batteries in flight, remove the ***** and tape the compartment shut before you leave. use strong tape like duct tape.
Don’t expect the flight crew to have a screwdriver, they are banned from all the same items as passengers.

Put in new batteries before the flight and change them after you land.
