Nitro Remote Control Cars

Even though we think of remote control cars as a small toy car kids receive at Christmas or birthdays there are a large number of varieties ranging from the very cheap to the extreme which costs hundreds of pounds.

Many of us have had a Christmas where either the children or even the adults have recieveds a remote control car as a present. These usually cost anything from £10 to maybe £50 and run on electricity. On the carpet and kitchen floor they run ok using a handheld controller with a range of around 10-15 meters before you need to be nearer your car. These lead to some excellent fun on Christmas Day and birthdays, maybe to the point where parents wonder…why did I buy this toy again?

These ranges also come as trucks, helicopters, tanks and the odd remote control dinosaur. The next range up through are still electric remote control cars but can cost up to or even over £100. These are more aimed at teenagers to adults who have had some experience with remote control cars and want a RC Buggy for example which allows them to move to a move professional level. These high end models may need their own servicing, repairs so higher interest is also needed to look after the car properly. Both of these electric rc cars require batteries which are usually rechargeable and can take anything from 20 minutes to a couple of hours to charge depending on the specifications of the remote control car.

Above these are the Nitro RC Cars which are extremely fast, require a excellent level of knowledge or at least learn quickly how to control, repair and maintain these cars. When you first purchase your nitro remote control car it needs running in which is basically a procedure the prime and prepare the engine, lubricate throughout with the oil and generally warm up the car ready for a speedy time. These cars run on specialised nitro fuel instead of electric which you purchase from dedicated model shops. As already mentioned, very fast, very loud and very good fun.

The last in the series of remote control cars are petrol RC cars. These are very similar to nitro cars but much bigger. They usually run on unleaded petrol which is the same petrol we put in our family cars. Very loud and very powerful, these are for the pure addict of RC Cars and those who have high experience of the previous electric and nitro cars. Constant servicing is needed as well as a extreme interest to keep the car in top form.

I hope this article has shed the light on the range available, from electric and nitro remote control cars to powerful petrol rc cars, there are many more varieties than you may have thought and more scope for excellent fun to be had for kids to adult.
