Don’t panic. We lived for hundreds of years with lead in every painted surface we came in contact with. Lead is only dangerous if one ingests large amounts of it over a long period of time. It caused brain damage only in children who were left alone to chew on painted surfaces for most of their early years. I personally know of no one who was so affected even though we were surrounded by lead paint covered surfaces as children. Of course, we were not permitted to chew on window sills for years either.

You have nothing to worry about.
