I remember I really liked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Ghostbusters, Barbies and blocks. I also liked My Little Ponies and Cabbage Patch Dolls. Tomagotchies came out when I was a ******* and they were pretty cool. What about you?
Oh yes I loved Teddy Ruxpin! In fact I still have mine :) Nintendo rocked too especially Duck Hunt and the original Super Mario Brothers
Oh I also forgot Atari! Frogger was the best game ever. I also had loads of Lisa Frank stationery and stickers. My grandpa would take me the store and let me pick out whatever I wanted. I had the first handheld Gameboy and that’s when Tetris was huge. I think I received it for my 7th birthday. Does anyone remember those molds that were shaped like bugs and you poured in the colored glue and then peeled them out and played with them? Creepy Crawlers! I didn’t have that but my neighbors did and it was fun!

I never had many store bought toys growing up… My father built my siblings and I toys instead..

    We had.
    Go carts…

A thing my father called “The interchangeable slab” (A 40ft X 80ft cement slab with pole holes so we could put up basketball goals, a volleyball net, tether-ball pole etc. we also used the slab for roller skating… In winter we could attach side boards, plug the pole holes and fill it with water for ice skating..)

We also had dirt bikes, a huge swing-set (adults could comfortably swing and play on it) and a tree house with a twisty slide that ended in the swimming pool….

We also had 55 gallon drums with foam padding glued to the insides we could take to the top of the hill and roll down in… (Aim well or you ended up in Mom’s fish pond… ok that was fun too until she found out.)

  8. Brass Monkey

Popples, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears and Rainbow Brite were my favorites.

Edit - Oh yeah, and for my 7th birthday, Lazer Tag had just come out and I got that. It was great. I also got a Nintendo that year which had also just come out. That was a good birthday :D

Teddy Ruxpin was definitely on my list of favorites!!

I was really into Barbies and Fisher Price Little People too.
    And carebears.

rocks and dirt. blankets and pillows. a terrarium (for the frogs we found and spent ages gathering bugs for). most of our favorite “toys” were not actually the things you bought in a store.

but the original star wars action figures come immediately to mind. legos. lincoln logs. frogger and asteroids and space invaders on the atari 2600.

Duck Hunt! I can’t believe I forgot that. On my Wii Play game they have a shooting game but it isn’t the same. :(
I collected cabbage patch dolls by the hundreds it seemed. I was so excited when my mom found a twin size cabbage patch tent to put on my bed. She even got me a matching cabbage patch flash light. OH that was fun.

I also had “pet watches”. They were watches that had dog and cat and pony heads over the time screen and you had to lift them to tell the time.

I had a lot of pound puppies too. My sister had a friend whose dad was a doctor. She told him how I thought I was a vet for my pound puppies and he gave me a whole big doctors bag. So fun.

Lisa Frank stationary and diaries. I must have had a hundred.

    Slap bracelets and watches.

    My first karaoke machine.

    Carebears

and my all time favorite… GLOWORMS! Member those?

I had Cricket - does anyone remember her?

I was such a weirdo but I didn’t play with a lot of toys. I pretty much read or wrote stories (not very good ones btw) or drew pictures. We went outside and played basketball, rode bikes, and did make pretend stuff (me, brother, and sister). I do remember Oregon Trail on our computer way back when. Loved that game. Also pictonary and UNO and trival pursuit - totally cheated, btw.
i did like strawberry shortcake though and Jem. She was who I wanted to be when I grew up. Of course I also thought I was her when I was like 3 or 4. lol
